Question of spirituality and ethics..?

Even as an atheist, I admit that what you have presented us with was a false dichotomy. It's obvious that you knew the answer to this question as the scenario is clearly in favor of the atheist doctor. I apologize if this isn't the case, and I hate to jump to conclusions, however, this seemed too evident to be a sincere question.
