Why do stupid "celebrities" like the Kardashian and heidi and spencer make more money?

Than hard working Americans? Teachers, police, fireman all make around 50,000 a year or maybe less but these low lives celeb wanna be's make up to 100,000 for making an appearance at a club? I can understand if an actor or singer gets paid 200,000 for making an appearance because they actually have great talent. But the Kardashian, or Paris Hilton who all have zero talent are making a lot of money, why?
