Tell me a few names of usb bootable operating systems to backup files when xp stops working?

i need a list of applications or operating systems which can copy files from one place to another (or to a usb) by putting them in a USB OR A CD(i.e. bootable thru usb\CD) without booting xp so that i can backup my files when xp STOPS WORKING. i know linux can b used.Bart PE can make such cds and microsoft pe can also b used.ARE THERE anything else bsides these.
