I'm coughing all the time, what the phuck is wrong?

I'm a smoker but I've only been smoking 2 years and I smoke about 5-8 cigarettes a day. Yet everyday I cough really badly and there comes up slime I'm not sick or anything it's just the cough, so what's wrong?
