Should non-citizens be treated the same as US citizens when arrested?

Illegal aliens should be treated better than U.S. citizens because they are a minority group, and as such, they are constantly being victimized by our society. We need to do all we can to make them feel welcome. Our country has a long history of violating the rights of minorities, and it's nice to see that the prosecutor was reasonable and fair to this guy. It's hard for illegals to obey the laws because they don't understand them, and we need to do all we can to help these people. So what if they commit crimes? They are very valuable to our society, much more valuable than the innocent citizens they kill. Two lives being lost is a small price to pay for the privilege of extending human rights to an illegal alien.
